School, the place where we spend much of
our time from early childhood through adolescence is the source of memories
carried through life.
The physical place of school is a matter of significance to all of us.
Creating the schoolhouse, however, is much more than a metaphor; it is
a communal enterprise that requires a multitude of interests to be reconciled.
Budgetary constraints, community expectations, regulatory mandates, educational
program all seek “equal time” in the process. Our role as
architect is to pull these forces together, resolving them in the direction
of an ideal educational environment that will form our memories.
Since our inception, the design of educational facilities has been and
remains a significant portion of our workload.
We have demonstrated our ability to design educational spaces that conform
to the instructional vision of our individual school clients. Whether
designing a small rural elementary school or a 900-student middle school,
a new high school or multiple additions to district-wide facilities, our
design approach is one that recognizes the unique educational vision of
each community and seeks to give it voice. |
